Meet the owner

Cristina Stevens

Cristina grew up in Laredo, TX where she began her study of dance and tumbling at the age of 5. She trained in jazz and hip hop at Laredo All-American Dance Studio and was selected to be a part of the studio’s competitive all-star cheer team. She continued cheering in high school, where they competed at UCA High School Regionals, State and National competitions yearly. In her senior year, she was recruited to cheer and compete in the Texas State University Spirit Program, where she became captain her final 2 years and took home UCA Collegiate Division I National Championships in 2003 & 2006. During college, she taught a variety of tumbling classes as well as coached the all-star competitive teams at a local cheer gym in San Marcos. Afterward, she went on to graduate from Texas State University (formerly Southwest Texas State University) where she received a Bachelor of Exercise Sports Science with a Major in Health & Fitness and a Minor in Business Administration.

With finding joy in teaching others, especially in the health & fitness industry, she took a full-time position at the YMCA of Greater San Antonio in New Braunfels as a Health and Wellness Director. She directed a variety of fitness programs that ranged from personal training to small group classes to community events and activities, focusing on member engagement. She then became certified as a Group Exercise Trainer, providing training courses and certification assessments for all Group Exercise Instructors with the YMCA of Greater San Antonio, and entire organization. After 6 years, she ventured into the medical industry, working with hospitals and physicians' offices, providing DME needs for the past 13 years. Outside of work, Cristina became a part of the Illusion Dance Center staff and started Acro classes for their competitive teams. It has then successfully developed and grown into the studio's scheduled curriculum for 8 years.

Cristina has three children, 1 daughter and 2 sons. The oldest is currently dancing and is a part of the competitive team, with both boys playing baseball. Her husband works for a custom home builder and they have been married for 18 years. Cristina has a passion for sharing her love of dance and tumbling with dancers and enjoys seeing their growth and development.
